Many will wonder how on earth a bridge from London ended up in the middle of Arizona...
The story begins when the bridge was constructed in the 1830s, spanning the River Thames in London. By the 1960's it was unable to cope with the heavy traffic, so the City of London decided to sell it. In 1967, Robert P. McCulloch purchased it for $2.5 million and relocated the structure to Arizona. The bridge was completed in 1971 (along with a canal), and links an island in the Colorado River with the main part of Lake Havasu City. However, some claim that McCulloch purhased more than just the bridge...
The bridge is reputedly haunted by at least 4 apparitions. These include a policeman, a prostitute, a beggar and a newsboy. Phenomena also include a strange mist that is said to decend upon the stone structure just like the fog found in London. The sounds of cart wheels and horses hooves have been heard as well as the sound of a police officers whistle. The phenomena are said to mostly occur after dark. Visit... if you dare!
